Pursuit That Cut Through Golf Course Ends In Killing Of Suspect

PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — A police pursuit Tuesday through a Corona golf course ended in an officer-involved shooting in Perris.

A pursuit suspect driving a minivan took authorities through Eagle Glen Golf Club in the 1800 block of Eagle Glen Parkway, leaving tire tracks across the turf.

Cellphone video shows the vehicle barreling across the green during the pursuit, which ended at 500 block of Palma Bonita Lane in Perris, where the suspect was shot and killed by sheriff's deputies.

Deputies say the suspect was wanted after using a stolen credit card at a Home Depot in Corona.

The suspect was driving a van with Georgia plates. Police would not yet say if the vehicle was stolen.

Corona police officers and sheriff's deputies were on the scene where the shooting took place.

It was unclear if shots were fired by the suspect.

No other injuries were reported.
