'Purple Stride' 5K Run-Walk Held To Raise Awareness For Pancreatic Cancer

EXPOSITION PARK (CBSLA.com)  — A "Purple Stride" 5K run-walk was held Saturday in Exposition Park.

The annual run-walk is designed to raise funds and awareness about pancreatic cancer.

The opening ceremony in Los Angeles started at 8:10 a.m. It was one of 50 run-walks held around the country today.

Hundreds of people, cancer patients, family and friends took part in los Angeles.

Money raised supports the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Organizers said millions were raised.

CBS2's Rich Fields was the event emcee.
