Public's Help Sought To Locate Burglary Suspect In Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Monday to locate a woman who is suspected of burglarizing a church and a vehicle in Apple Valley.

According to the Apple Valley Police Department, the suspect is believed to have stolen several wallets out of victims purses who were volunteering at a church.

The suspect then used one of the stolen checks to purchase fundraiser items from a local boy scout troop, police said.

Authorities added the suspect also stole a purse, which contained credit cards and personal information, from a vehicle located in the 11900 block of Apple Valley Road. She then attempted to use the stolen credit cards at Target located on Bear Valley Road.

Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic woman who has long brown hair, stands 5-foot-10 tall and weighs no more than 200 pounds.
