Public's Help Sought In Search For Boy's Stolen Wheelchair

CANYON COUNTRY (CBSLA.com) — Sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help locating a wheelchair stolen from the Santa Clarita Valley home of a woman with a disabled son last week.

Authorities say the burglary occurred on the 27900 block of Tyler Lane in the Canyon Country area on February 24.

The stolen wheelchair was reportedly a "Karma" custom model made especially for the victim's son and had a candy-apple red paint job with ghost flames running along its bars.

The victim, who has not been named, reported the wheelchair was inside the garage of her residence and believed her garage door may have been left open at the time of the theft.

A black backpack attached to the back of the wheelchair is also missing.

Anyone with information regarding the incident, or the whereabouts of the wheelchair, is asked to contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.

Callers who wish to remain anonymous can contact L.A. Crime Stoppers by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477) or texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637).

No further information was available at press time.
