Public's Help Sought In Identifying Man Whose Body Was Found Off Newport Coast

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Orange County sheriff's investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying a man whose body was discovered off the coast of Newport Beach on Christmas Eve.

The body, which was badly decomposed, was discovered by a fisherman near Crystal Cove, according to sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The victim was described to be 5 feet 9 inches tall, 165 pounds, with dark-colored hair. He was wearing dark-colored, nylon Champion brand sweatpants with zippered legs, size 11, black Asics running shoes and a black Timex watch with a plastic band, Hallock said.
