Blown Junction, Not Vault Explosion, Caused Brief Outage In Pasadena

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a blown junction caused a temporary outage in Pasadena, but power had been restored to all but three customers.

The Pasadena Police Department had asked the public to avoid the 900 block of South Arroyo Parkway while crews investigated a possible vault explosion.

As of 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, however, crews reported that the incident was not a vault explosion but the result of a blown junction.

Crews said the incident caused a temporary outage, but report that power had been restored 7 minutes later to all but three customers.
