Protesters Shut Down Traffic In Hollywood; 1 In Custody

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Dozens of protesters shut down traffic Friday night as they marched through the streets of Hollywood.

The group, protesting police brutality, was walking westbound on Sunset Boulevard shortly before 9 p.m.

SKY9 was overhead as they marched from Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street and continued to Sunset Boulevard, passing Cahuenga Boulevard and heading west before turning south on La Brea Avenue.

LAPD patrol vehicles were behind the protesters as they marched at some points toward oncoming traffic. Police also had a helicopter overhead.

Officers stood at the intersection of La Brea and De Longpre Avenue, where one person was taken into custody and the group dispersed.
