Prosecutors Charge O.C. Man In Connection With Leaf-Blower Prank Inside Movie Theater

ORANGE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County man who's accused of being involved in a movie theater prank involving a leaf-blower has been charged.

Colin Hunter Davis, 18, was charged Thursday with three misdemeanor counts, including unlawful assembly, trespassing and disturbing the peace.

Prosecutors say Davis went into Edwards Big Newport 6 in Newport Beach back in August and is accused of participating in an unlawful assembly.

According to authorities, a leaf-blower had been turned on, which caused customers to panic and start running for the exits.

Three people suffered minor injuries, including a broken toe.

Police also detained three other teenagers, but it's unclear if they'll be charged.

If convicted on all counts, Davis faces a maximum sentence of one year in Orange County Jail. He is currently out of custody, authorities said.
