Prominent LA County Judge Killed While Crossing Street In Pico-Robertson Area

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Friends and family were mourning the loss Tuesday night of man who served as a judge in Los Angeles County.

Daniel L. Brenner was struck and killed while crossing the street in the Pico-Robertson area.

The crash involving a Honda Civic happened on Beverwil Drive Monday, police said.

Officers said the driver stopped.

Brenner was appointed to the bench by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2012.

He was also a respected law professor at the University of Southern California and had served on the adjunct faculties of other notable institutions, according to a biography posted to USC's
website.

Brenner received his juris doctorate from Stanford University Law School.
