Probe underway after man is killed in Lancaster

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in Lancaster early Sunday morning.

The homicide is said to have occurred at around 3 a.m. in the 400 block of Lancaster Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. 

First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin. 

There was no word yet on a possible motive, and the suspect remains outstanding.
