Man Sentenced To Life In Prison Without Parole For Murdering His Parents

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 22-year-old man was sentenced to prison Friday for murdering his parents at their San Juan Capistrano home.

According to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, Ashton Colby Sachs was given multiple life prison terms without the possibility of parole.

Sachs pleased guilty in September to two counts each of murder and attempted murder.

He also admitted to special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and sentence-enhancing allegations of the personal use of a firearm causing death, personal use of a gun causing bodily injury and causing paralysis.

Around 2 a.m. on Feb. 9, 2014, Bradford Hans Sachs, 57, and his ex-wife Andra Resa Sachs, 54, were found dead inside their home located in the 32000 block of Peppertree Bend.

The couple's 8-year-old son Landon was left paralyzed from injuries sustained in the shooting.

According to police, Sachs also fired at his 17-year-old sister Alexis, but she was not struck by gunfire.

A motive for the crime has yet to be determined.
