Pregnant Woman, Others Hurt When DUI Suspect Plows Through South LA Strip Mall, House

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 57-year-old driver suspected of being under the influence careened into vehicles at a South L.A. strip mall Tuesday evening and then plowed through a fence into a house.

It happened around 6:20 p.m. in the Numero Uno grocery store parking lot, near the corner of Vermont and Vernon avenues.

The driver struck two cars, injuring a pregnant driver and another woman, CBS2/KCAL9's Andrea Fujii reports.

The man continued driving and crashed into a wall and a house.

The driver and the two women injured were taken to hospitals. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Fujii says.
