Powerball Jackpot Rises To At Least $380 Million

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Powerball fever has gripped the nation.

The estimated jackpot for Saturday's draw had been $360 million but brisk sales nationwide have upped the pot to at least $380 million.

No ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday's Powerball draw when the jackpot stood at $316 million.

The numbers selected Wednesday evening were 24, 36, 51, 52, 56 and the Powerball number was 22.

The drawing was the 19th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The $380 million jackpot is the sixth largest in that game's history. Lottery officials said the last time any player won a Powerball jackpot was on November 29, 2014, when a single ticket purchased in the state of Washington matched all six numbers. The jackpot was $90 million.

California's biggest Powerball winner, to date, won $425.3 million in February 2014. That was the game's fourth biggest ever jackpot.

The $2 Powerball game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Powerball starts at $40 million and climbs every time there is no winner. The record jackpot reached $590 million in May 2013. That ticket was sold in Florida.
