Power Restored To Thousands In Silverlake Following Vault Explosion

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Power was restored Wednesday for thousands of Department of Water and Power customers in the Silverlake area following an explosion that occurred in a vault.

According to the LADWP, nearly 21,000 customers were originally affected by an explosion that took place last night in the 600 block of North Hoover Street, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, some power was restored in the area, which left 8,000 customers without electricity.

Around 4:30 a.m., power was restored to remaining customers in the area.
