Armed Suspect In Custody After Barricade Situation In Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An armed suspect has been taken into custody after an hours-long barricaded situation in downtown Los Angeles, police say.

The incident in the 700 block of E. 9th Street unfolded around 3 a.m. Sunday, a watch commander with the Los Angeles Police Department said.

It was there authorities say two people got into an argument, prompting one to pull out a firearm. No shots had been fired.

Police say the Union Hotel had been evacuated as authorities worked to detain the suspect.

As of 9:20 a.m., the man was said to have been taken into custody, according to KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO.
