Officials Shut Down Portion Of Ortega Highway After Big Rig Truck Overturns

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBSLA.com) — Officials Monday closed a portion of Ortega Highway after a big rig truck overturned on the freeway.

Shortly before 1 p.m., a big rig truck that had a large open trailer full of trash overturned, and blocked the east and westbound lanes of Ortega Highway at Antonio Parkway.

According to Caltrans, all lanes will remain closed for the next two hours while officials work to remove trash from the roadway.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
