Portion Of 210 Freeway Closed During Rancho Cucamonga Homicide Investigation

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — Half of the Westbound 210 Freeway remained closed Sunday after a man died of injuries sustained on the freeway last night.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga station responded just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday for reports of an injured person on the north side of the freeway.

Once on scene, deputies said they found an adult male suffering from injuries sustained on the freeway just East of the Day Creek exit.

It was unclear how he was injured, however, homicide detail was brought in to investigate due to suspicious circumstances.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, however, he later succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and the closure effects all Westbound lanes of the freeway until 9 a.m.

The name of the victim is being withheld until his family is notified.
