Police: Woman Who Claimed To Be Carjacked By Bank Robber Was His Accomplice

CORONA (CBSLA.com)  —   Police in Corona say their victim has become their suspect.

Last week, Patricia Smith said she was carjacked by a bank robber.

Police said Paul Johnson robbed the Pacific Premier Bank on East Sixth Street on February 4.

Johnson led police on an 11-mile car chase.

The pursuit ended with Johnson being shot and killed in Chino.

Smith first told investigators that Johnson forced her inside his van. Police said Smith actually is Johnson's step daughter.
