Police Stop Suspect On 210 Allegedly Involved In Kidnapping

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Police Friday evening stopped a motorist on the westbound 210 Freeway who was allegedly involved in a kidnapping.

Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky2, said police followed the suspect for "quite a while."

The vehicle -- a green BMW X5 registered out of Glendale  -- was stopped just past the Rosemead exit in Pasadena, said authorities.

The driver and a female passenger were both taken into custody.

The car had tinted windows and police approached the vehicle with extreme caution.

While police investigated the scene and checked whether there was a kidnap victim in the vehicle, all but the express lane was shut down. Traffic was tied up for miles.

"It's backed up to the 605," reported Mundel.
