Police: Stolen Vehicle Suspect Arrested After Pomona Chase

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a stolen vehicle suspect has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a pursuit that resulted in two collisions in Pomona.

Gabriel Gomez of Pomona allegedly led authorities on a chase through the southwest portion of Pomona on Thursday afternoon.

At the time, the 19-year-old was allegedly driving a stolen Nissan Xterra, police said.

During the chase, authorities said Gomez was involved in two separate non-injury collisions, according to a written statement by the Pomona Police Department.

"He also swerved his vehicle toward pursuing officers in a dangerous maneuver that endangered the officers, the public, and himself," the statement said.

The Xterra was eventually disabled, and Gomez was apprehended following a foot pursuit, police said.

Gomez was subsequently booked on suspicion of evading arrest, among other charges.
