Police Fatally Shoot Suspect In Atwater Village

ATWATER VILLAGE (CBSLA) — Los Angeles police shot and killed a suspect in Atwater Village Thursday afternoon.

The shooting was reported just before 12:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Edenhurst Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department.

According to Los Angeles police, officers responded to a call just after noon about a man chasing people around with an "edged weapon."

The unidentified suspect was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Officials at the scene said they would remain in the area for hours as the investigation continues.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the suspect. No officers were hurt.
