Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver They Believe Killed Teenage Girl In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Police need help finding a hit-and-run driver they believe killed a teenage girl and injured two women in Santa Ana.

The victims were standing in the center turn lane of Hazard Avenue when they were hit by a dark SUV around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Lameia Harris, 16, died. The other two victims remain hospitalized, one of them in critical condition, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

Investigators have spoken with one of the surviving victims, and the only lead she could offer was that the three were struck by a "dark SUV," Bertagna said.

"That's why we're hoping somebody saw it and will come forward," he said.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run driver can call (714) 245-8200.
