LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police are looking to identify a burglary suspect who they say followed a mail carrier inside an apartment complex before allegedly forcing his way into a West Los Angeles unit.

Los Angeles police said in a statement that the suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall Black male, allegedly entered the building in the 3400 block of Manning Avenue about 1 p.m. on Dec. 2.

Once inside, police say the suspect forced his way into a second-floor apartment.

"He took property belonging to the victim and fled the location," the statement said.

Police said the suspect weighs approximately 225 pounds and is bald.

He apparently wore a plaid shirt, dark pants, white shoes and a black wristwatch. Police also said the suspect was on his cellphone when he allegedly entered the complex.
