Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver In Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Police on Tuesday searched for a hit-and-run driver who struck a power pole in Sun Valley.

Around 2:49 a.m., officers were sent to Wheatland Avenue and Sunland Boulevard for report of a vehicle versus power pole, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located the power pole broken in half.

A preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle was speeding on Sunland Boulevard when it struck a tree and then the pole.

The driver fled from the scene prior to officer's arrival.

No suspect description has been provided.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews were called to assist at the scene.

At this time, it remains unclear if any customers are affected in the area.

Officers have blocked off the intersection until further notice.
