Police Seek Help Identifying Burglar In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Wednesday in identifying a suspect accused of robbing a residence while two juveniles were inside.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers received a call of a burglary in progress around 12:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Infinidad Street.

Once on scene, officers said they learned two female victims, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, were inside the residence.

It was unclear if the victims were injured or if anything was stolen from the residence.

Authorities explained the suspect, described as a Hispanic male, fled from the residence before officers arrived.

Witnesses reportedly assisted officers to compose a sketch of the suspect.

These types of burglaries are known as "hot prowls" and are known to occur while victims are inside of their homes, which is inherently dangerous, detectives explained.

Officers said they believe there may have been additional incidents that have gone unreported by potential victims in the area.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at (805) 385-3921 or (805) 982-7070.
