SIGNAL HILL (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday were searching for an attempted robbery suspect in Signal Hill.

The alleged crime took place Feb. 6 just before 2:30 p.m. at the Munchies located at 2331 Orange Ave., officials said.

According to police, the suspect entered the store and "pointed a black, long barrel revolver, possibly a Colt Python with a 10" barrel, at the cashier."

He allegedly threatened to shoot her if she didn't open the cash register and hand him money.

After she was unable to open it, the suspect fled the scene in a blue, 2006 or 2007 Ford Fusion with a black paper license plate with white lettering on the front.

He was described as an Hispanic or Filipino man in his 20s or 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thick build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a white, long sleeve lab coat over a black shirt, black pants, black shoes and had a surgical mask over his face.
