Armed Man, Child Suspected Of Robbing Pizza Hut In Placentia

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Wednesday to locate an armed man and a 12-year-old boy who robbed a pizza restaurant in Placentia.

According to the Placentia Police Department, officers were sent around 11 p.m. on Tuesday to Pizza Hut located in the 900 block of East Yorba Linda Boulevard.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned a man armed with a black handgun jumped over the front counter, grabbed the clerk and demanded cash.

The suspect then jumped backed over the counter and ran westbound from the store towards McCormack Lane.

According to the victim, a child stood in the doorway and fled with the armed suspect.

No suspect vehicle was seen.

Police said the suspects stole a little over $100 cash.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives described the armed suspect as an adult African American man who stands 6-foot-4 tall and weighs 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark baseball style hat, sunglasses, a bandana across his face and a gray track style suit.

The child was described as an African American boy who stands 5-foot-2 tall and weighs 100 pounds. He wore a baseball style hat, sunglasses and a shirt with an unknown red print on the front during the robbery.
