Police Seek 2 Men Accused Of Posing As Officers In West Covina Home Invasion Robberies

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives were searching for two men on Wednesday who are accused of robbing two apartments in West Covina.

According to the West Covina Police Department, officers were sent around 6:03 a.m. to the 3400 block of South Maranville Court after receiving report of two men who broke into two occupied apartments.

Once on scene, officers met with the victims of the first location, which was occupied by three adults and three children.

Police learned the suspects stole cash, an Xbox and games from their apartment.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects then entered an adjoining apartment, and fled from the area a short time later.

The suspects claimed to be police officers serving search warrants in the area, authorities said.

Officers explained they attempted to locate the victims of the second apartment, however, witnesses reported they left prior to officer's arrival at the scene.

It remains unclear if any property was stolen from the second apartment.

Detectives described the first suspect as a black man that stands 5-foot-8 tall, and weighs 180 pounds. He was seen wearing all black clothing.

The second suspect was described as a white man that stands 6-feet-tall and has a thin build.

Both suspects were last seen wearing vests with small American flags on them, and were armed with handguns.

No suspect vehicle was seen.

The investigation is ongoing.
