2 Robbery Suspects Detained After Brief Chase In Sherman Oaks

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) — Police arrested four people in connection with a robbery at gunpoint in a parking garage in Sherman Oaks, followed by a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.

The crime happened about 10 a.m. Monday near a Whole Foods market in the 4400 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles police spokesman Drake Madison said. The victim was not injured.

Police chased a car to Friar Street and Kester Avenue, where the vehicle crashed into a pole. The fleeing car reached about 100 mph, with the driver serving to the wrong side of the road at times, according to broadcast reports.

Three suspects were arrested without incidents, and the fourth suffered minor bites when located by a police dog, Madison said.

Police did not immediately release the names of the suspects or other booking information.
