Police Searching For Man Who Broke Into Home, Attacked 2 Women

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A Southland community is on edge, after a man attacked two women inside their home.

Neighbors woke up to the sounds of police and bloodhounds Sunday morning trying to hunt down a suspect now on the run.

Riverside detectives say the man attacked two women inside a home on the 3500 block of Audubon Place. An elderly woman suffered a gash around her neck and a black and blue left eye. When a younger woman came to her aid, the assailant assaulted her also. Witnesses say the victims are mother and daughter.

Police say the masked man got into the bedroom though an unlocked window at about 1:30 a.m.

"I told my kids no more leaving the doors unlocked," a neighbor said.

Police say the only description they have on the man is that he is about 6-feet tall.
