Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Police searched for a hit-and-run driver Monday who fatally struck a pedestrian in Pomona.

According to the Pomona Police Department, officers were sent shortly before midnight to the area of Holt and Garey avenues for report of a traffic collision.

Upon their arrival, authorities found an adult man who was struck by a vehicle in the roadway.

Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

"The driver of that vehicle fled the location without rendering aid," said Corp. JT Garcia. "The vehicle has significant damage to the windshield area."

The investigation is ongoing.
