Police Search For 2 Men Who Attempted To Kidnap Woman From Home

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — Police continue to search for two men who attempted to kidnap a woman from her home and are hoping a new sketch will help them be successful.

The attempted kidnapping took place Monday at the 100 block of North 10th Street near Whittier Boulevard, which is considered a busy area.

Two suspects, one wearing a mask and gloves, grabbed the woman after she walked into a laundry room.

"She was able to break free, run out, (and) the two suspects ran out after her, " Montebello Police Sgt. Marc Marty said. "Her husband heard her scream, (and) saw the two suspects run out."

As the woman made it to safety, her husband pursued the two suspects into the street, managing to catch up with one of them.

"While he was fighting with him, the other suspect came and pulled him off, punched him in the face and broke up the fight," Marty said. "The two suspects ended up jumping into what was described as a 1995 to 2000 white Chevy S10."

The victims did get a good enough look at one of the suspects for police to come up with a sketch authorities now hope will help lead to their capture.

The other suspect is described as 6-foot-2, of large build and wearing a black and gray shirt and jeans at the time of the attempted kidnapping.
