Police: Rapper 'Too Short' Flees Burbank Airport After Taking Loaded Handgun Through Security

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Police say they arrested rapper "Too Short" after he brought a loaded handgun through the security check at Bob Hope Airport.

Todd Anthony Shaw was passing through a checkpoint at the airport around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday "when a TSA employee noticed a carry-on bag passing through the scanner that contained a handgun," Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco told The Burbank Leader.

"Mr. Shaw left the concourse without his belongings, via an exit door, before he could be detained," Losacco said.

The rapper returned to the airport Thursday with his attorney.

He reportedly was cited for having a loaded handgun in a public place and released.

Shaw is due to appear Nov. 3 in a Burbank courtroom.
