Police Pursue Reckless Driving Vehicle In Area Of Echo Park

ECHO PARK (CBSLA.com) — LAPD cruisers were in pursuit of a vehicle in the area of Echo Park on Wednesday evening.

The vehicle, described as a four-door Honda with two passengers, was wanted for reckless driving.

The Honda reportedly clipped a white van while entering the 101 freeway from Glendale Blvd.

The pursuit began shortly after 7:55 on Wednesday.

The suspect entered and exited the freeway several times.

It was reported that the suspect, or suspects, was also wanted in relation to a shooting that occurred earlier in the week.

The vehicle's headlights were not on as the vehicle proceeded to speed through surface streets, weaving through traffic.

At 8:11 p.m. the vehicle came to a stop, and at least one suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot.

An officer was able to catch up with a male suspect after about a block of running, at which point the suspect appeared to be on the ground after the use of less than lethal force.

At about 8:15 p.m., LAPD reported that two suspects had fled the vehicle, and that both were in custody.
