Police Take Man Into Custody After Pursuit Of Possibly Stolen SUV In South Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man was taken into custody Monday at the end of a pursuit of motorist suspected of driving a stolen SUV in South Los Angeles, authorities said.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department had attempted to stop a later-model Chevrolet Tahoe on surface street in circling many of the same neighborhood in the South Los Angeles area.

About 9:20 p.m., the driver entered southbound lanes of the Harbor Freeway at speeds approaching 80 mph, and soon got off the freeway again near Exposition Park, still refusing to stop for officers.

The pursuit came to end about 9:45 p.m. in a South LA neighborhood with the driver apparently crashing into parked vehicles and suffering a medical issue.
