Police Arrest 5 Armed Men Following Standoff At South LA Home

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Five men were arrested Thursday following a lengthy standoff at a home in South Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the barricade situation began around 1 a.m. at a home located in the 1200 block of West 42nd Street.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to carjack a man in the area.

When the victim refused to give up his car the suspects fired at him as he drove to his home.

The man was able to escape without sustaining any injuries.

According to police, the suspects fled from the area and barricaded themselves inside of a home.

Neighbors were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Police arrested all of the men shortly before 8 a.m., officials said.

No injuries were reported.
