Police: Man Arrested For Attempted Murder In Pomona Stabbing

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A man accused of stabbing a woman in Pomona remained in custody on Sunday.

According to the Pomona Police Department, officers were able to track down Willy Ortega Medina — who was considered to be armed and dangerous suspect — around 7:00 p.m. Saturday, and subsequently arrested him without incident.

On Jan. 29, officers were sent around 9:00 p.m. to the 200 block of North Main Street for report of a stabbing victim.

Police explained Medina is accused of stabbing a female victim twice in her upper torso.

When they arrived to the scene, police located the woman suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was transported to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear at this time.

Medina is being held on attempted murder charges.
