Knife-Wielding Man Dies In Pasadena

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday investigated the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Pasadena.

Around 1:23 a.m., officers were sent to a fast food restaurant located in the 1400 block of East Colorado Boulevard for report of a man who was armed with a knife inside of the restaurant and was refusing to leave.

Police said the man also called 911 from inside the restaurant and confirmed he was holding a knife.

Authorities were able to stop the suspect at the corner of Hill Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.

As the man was placed on a gurney, he became unresponsive. Paramedics transported him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Colorado Boulevard between Holliston and Hill avenues remained closed to commuters until 8 a.m. while detectives conducted a death investigation.

At this time, the man's identity has not been released.

No other injuries were reported.
