'Suspicious Package' At LAX Deemed Safe

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A "suspicious package" discovered at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday afternoon has been deemed safe.

Detectives responded to Terminal 1 at 3:45 p.m.

The screening checkpoint was temporarily closed and the terminal ticketing area was evacuated while authorities, including the bomb squad, investigated.

The terminal was given the "all-clear" shortly before 5 p.m.
