Police investigate deadly officer-involved shooting in Mira Loma

Police have closed the corner of Limonite Avenue and Bain Street to investigate a deadly officer-involved shooting in Mira Loma.

According to the Ontario Police Department, the officer-involved shooting occurred after a pursuit where the suspect attempted to ram officers several times. 

The pursuit began at about 6 p.m. in Ontario when an officer attempted to stop the suspect's vehicle for a vehicle code violation. The suspect began to flee from police. 

Authorities opened fire after the suspect's final attempt to ram officers. The suspect was struck several times and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

 A body could be seen on the side of the road near the white pickup truck with bullet holes in the passenger side of the windshield. 

The pickup was pinned between two police cars.

No officers were injured.

Streets in the area were expected to remain closed for several hours.
