Woman, 49, Admits To Murdering Roommate In Garden Grove, Police Say

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — A 49-year-old woman confessed to killing her roommate in Garden Grove, according to police.

Fire officials responded to a "female in cardiac arrest" around 11:05 a.m. Friday at Chapman Board and Care, located at 10811 Chapman Avenue.

When personnel arrived on the scene, they found the victim, identified as 50-year-old Hoa Sui, with apparent lacerations around her face and neck.

Police later determined the death was suspicious.

During the investigation, Sui's roommate, Lucie Wardell, admitted to the crime, authorities said. She was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held at the Orange County jail.

The motive behind the homicide is unknown.
