Police Investigating Fatal Shooting In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Long Beach police have closed Artesia Boulevard between Myrtle and Atlantic Avenues due to a fatal shooting.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area of E. Artesia Boulevard and Myrtle Avenue at approximately 1:50 p.m. Monday.

A Long Beach police spokesperson told CBS2/KCAL9 News officers located a male subject on the ground.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
