Police Investigate Deadly Triple Shooting In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police investigated a shooting on Friday that killed one person and injured two others in South Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent shortly after 3 a.m. to the 9300 block of South Central and Hooper avenues for report of a shooting.

Upon their arrival, authorities located two men and a woman suffering from injuries sustained in the shooting.

Paramedics transported two of the victims, who are both 24-years-old, to St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood. The third victim was transported to Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

According to police, one of the victims died at the hospital. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

An update on the condition of the other victims was not immediately available.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victims were inside a vehicle when another car, containing four male suspects, pulled up and opened fire.

Police said one of the suspects used an unknown caliber weapon to fire multiple rounds at the victims.

At this time, no suspect description has been provided.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
