Police Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police on Monday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 23-year-old man in Long Beach.

Around 10 p.m. on Sunday, officers were sent to the 100 block of East Pacific Coast Highway for report of shots fired with a man down, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers began performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived to the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died. The victim has been identified as Andre Berero, of Long Beach.

At this time, no suspects have been arrested.

Detectives said the incident may have been gang-related.
