Police Investigate 5-Car Crash In Van Nuys As Possible Street Racing

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — One person was in very critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash in Van Nuys Sunday that may have been the result of street racing.

The crash occurred at 7:15 p.m. in the 16000 block of Sherman Way, officials said.

Three of the five vehicles were reportedly moving, while the other two had been parked, according to police.

The wrecked vehicles took up two lanes of Sherman Way well through 10 p.m., as debris lined the roadside.

A total of four people, including three who were 18 years old, were transported to a local hospital.

The cause of crash was under investigation, but witnesses told police it was the result of street racing.

All vehicles were impounded. No arrest have been made.
