Police take cellphone violation pursuit suspect into custody in North Hills

California Highway Patrol officers took a cellphone violation pursuit suspect into custody after an approximate 30-minute pursuit that began in the Antelope Valley and ended in Los Angeles County.

The driver in a silver Toyota sedan moved southbound on the 14 Freeway through the Newhall area, then onto the 5 Freeway, and the 405 Freeway south. For the most part, the driver traveled below the speed limit, around 50 mph.

The driver moved off the freeway and onto surface streets in North Hills, and stopped at Nordhoff Street and Woodley Avenue, where he was taken into custody by CHP officers.
