Police Hunt Suspects In Fatal Stabbing Outside Flyer Party In Pacoima

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com)   —   Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives with the LAPD are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred outside a party in Pacoima.

On Saturday, around 2:20 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a possible "Ambulance Cutting, Man Down," in the 12400 block of Bernadette Street in Pacoima.

The suspects are at large, officials said.

When officers arrived they found El Monte resident Victor Garcia, 22, lying on the street. Witnesses were performing CPR, officials said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Garcia to a local hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed,  Garcia had been attending a flyer party -- a gathering that invites strangers to a venue via flyers circulated around a neighborhood.

The suspects became intoxicated and belligerent and the homeowner asked them to leave the event. This allegedly further angered the suspects and they became confrontational.

Once the suspects left the yard another altercation started in the street in front of the residence. During the confrontation the suspects fought with Garcia.

One of the suspects, allegedly armed with a knife, stabbed Garcia causing fatal injuries.

The suspects fled the scene in various vehicles, officials said.
