Police Hunt Man Suspected In Assault Of Man In His 60s On Bus

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Police are on the lookout for a man they said beat a man on a bus in Culver City after an argument.

Police told KCAL9's Rachel Kim that the victim in his 60s and man got into an argument on the bus about 1:45 p.m. Nov. 22. At some point, the man stood up and began striking and punching the victim "several times" about the face and head.

Authorities believe the man was traveling with a woman, perhaps a girlfriend.

A bus driver saw the altercation, pulled over and called police. At this point, the man and the woman fled.

The victim was taken to a hospital, treated and released.

The attack occurred near Sepulveda Boulevard and Slauson Avenue.

Surveillance footage of the man and woman was released by the Culver City Police Department on Thursday morning.

Authorities told Kim the suspect is black, in his early 20s with a light complexion and a mustache or goatee. He was wearing camouflage shorts and a red sweatshirt with a brown pocket.

The woman was described as Latina, in her early 20s, with dark hair. She was wearing a black shirt and black pants and carrying a skateboard, police said.

Anyone with more information about the couple was asked to call Detective Thompson (310) 253-6311 or the watch commander at (310) 253-6202.
