Police Hope Security Video Can Help Identify Hit-And-Run Driver In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Police are hoping a security video can help them identify and catch a hit-and-run driver that left a woman seriously hurt.

The footage captured the moments after the accident in front of the Laemmle's Monica Film Center at 1332 Second St. at 5:45 p.m. Nov. 15.

Police said the woman was crossing the street in the crosswalk when she was hit and carried on the hood of the car for about 100 feet before falling off the vehicle.

The video showed a car pulling out from behind a bus then slowly making a right turn.

The suspect's car is described as a silver 2000 to 2006 four-door Nissan Sentra.

It could have damage on the right side of the front bumper, hood and windshield.

Lt. Saul Rodriguez said he was hoping someone will come forward with information that can help lead investigators to the driver.

"Any call that we get, our investigators can have something to follow up on any lead that they give, anything that would indicate that they were either there or they have an idea as to where the suspect vehicle is," Rodriguez said. "If it turns out that's incorrect, we're still glad to get these phone calls because at the end of the day, again, we're trying to bring some justice to the family and to the victim."
