Driver Wanted For Questioning After Fleeing Montclair Homicide Scene

MONTCLAIR (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday were searching for a driver involved in a homicide investigation, officials said.

Montclair police said around 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the 5400 block of San Bernardino Street and Exeter Avenue for reports of multiple shots fired.

When they arrived, officers found a 24-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Witnesses described the suspect's vehicle as a burgundy or red sports car, possibly a two-door vehicle, that was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed after the shots were fired.

The driver is a person of interest and is wanted for questioning, police said.
